Life Aspirations of the Bagua

The Feng Shui Bagua is a powerful way to bring about the changes you desire.  The Bagua is represented by a 9-section grid.  Eight of the areas correspond to a specific Life Aspiration, with which you can enhance to align with your personal goals.  The ninth area is located at the center of the Bagua and is believed to hold the energy for all Life Aspirations.  Thus it is a place of balance and harmony.  

Which area should I focus on at this time?  Read on to determine which Life Aspiration is best suited to support your current life situation.

Health Area. Having good health is the best basis from which to improve and expand our lives in all areas.   Good feng shui in this area represents good health for the whole family. With wood as its element and the associated color a deep green, it signifies growth, strength, flexibility and vitality – new beginnings. Enhance this area of your home if you are looking to improve your health and the health of your family. The primary color associated with this area is green and it is represented by the Wood element. 

Wealth Area. The Wealth area is related not only to finance but also to gratitude for that which we already have. Wealth is defined as having enough but how do we define enough? Wealth can certainly take the shape of material possessions and money, but also blessings and abundance in many other forms. If your goal is to increase your wealth in life, this is the area to focus on. The primary color associated with this area is purple and it is represented by the wood element. 

Fame (or Abundance) Area. The Fame area has to do with prosperity and abundance. The element for this area is Fire and fire likes to spread and expand. This is a great area to focus on if you wish to prosper. By allowing wealth to spread as opposed to gripping it tightly, we allow room for movement, thereby making room in our lives for more. If we see ourselves as being abundant, we not only benefit ourselves but also those around us.

Relationship Area. The Relationship area concerns your primary relationship with your sexual partner, as well as your relationship to yourself, family, friends, and people in general. It is about the ability to share and spread our “emotional wealth” – our compassion and empathy. It is about self-love and self-worth. If you wish to attract love in all its forms, focus on the Relationship area. The primary color associated with this area is pink and it is represented by the fire element.

Creativity Area. The Creativity area is about our ability to create, whether that be the birth of new projects or ideas or the actual birth of a child.   This is a great area to focus on if you are looking for inspiration in all forms of creative outlets, or if you seek to rediscover a sense of spontaneity and adventure in your life. It is also a good area to enhance if you wish to conceive. The primary color associated with this area is white and it is represented by the Metal element. 

Helpful People Area. The Helpful People area represents our interactions out in the world. It is about choosing our individual path, but also realizing and experiencing the similarity and community amidst the diversity in the world.  Enhance this area if you wish to attract helpful people to assist you along your life journey. This is also a great place to focus on if you have desires to travel to a new destination or move to a new location. The primary color associated with this area is gray and it is represented by the metal element.

Career (or Vocation) Area. The Career area has more to do with how we love to spend our time, rather than making money at a job. If we love something, we bring our spirit to it. This area is about knowing and using our innate talents and abilities. If you are seeking direction and purpose in your life this is the area to focus on. The primary color associated with this area is black and it is represented by the Water element.

Wisdom Area. The Wisdom area is associated with introspection and inner knowing.   It also supports the ability to acquire new knowledge and learning. Enhance this area if you want to improve your studies, intuition, or spiritual guidance. The primary color associated with this area is blue and it is represented by the water element.

Harmony Area. The Harmony area is the center of the Bagua map and represents a place of balance. It is characterized by the yin/yang symbol and is the heart of our home; a sanctuary that encompasses all life aspects. This is a great place for an altar. Enhance this area to reaffirm your desire to be well and to experience a fullness of spirit. The primary colors associated with this area are yellows and earth tones and it is represented by the Earth element.
