In virtually every culture and medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving or shifting energy, and restoring the flow. Feng Shui is one such practice that focuses on balancing flow in the environment, which in turn, affects the spirit-body-mind connection. If your outside world is balanced, so too will be your inside world. And vice versa. It is this ebb and flow of Universal energy that breathes life into our experiences here on Earth. It is our dance with energy.
Often it is difficult for us to believe that this can be true because we are so profoundly entrenched in this physical world. But, since everything and everyone on this planet is energy, the energy of our physical body is in constant communication with the energy of a space. And for those of us who need scientific proof, quantum physics has shown us that space is not really empty because nothing contains something, a seething window of energy and particles that flit into and out of existence. I believe all this empty space holds portals into the library of Universal information. So, how do we tap into that information?
Some may use tools such as a Mandala or Medicine Wheel, for example. One of the tools we use in Feng Shui is called a Bagua, which is essentially a formula for manifestation and healing. When I use the word formula here, what I essentially mean is an energy field or “blueprint” that has been created with thoughts and feelings built up over time. Similar to connections in our neurological pathways which are built up over time by our thoughts about things, the Bagua is an energy-based information “structure”, which depends on the energy input of attention and intention.
By aligning your home with the Bagua, you are putting your attention on which areas of your home correspond to specific Life Aspirations like Wealth, Creativity, or Relationships, for example. By setting intentions, you are tapping into this “information structure” to manifest desired changes in one or more of areas of your life. As I am finding out, desired changes can manifest quickly or slowly or not at all, depending on your openness to allow change to occur and on whether you do your part. That is, you must believe that the invisible world of energy has been activated on your behalf and you must physically take action toward your goal. Thought + Action = Goal.
Is it possible to achieve your desired changes without the use of the Bagua? Yes. But the energy “groove” of the Bagua built up over thousands of years will most certainly work in your favor for quicker results. Plus, it is a great tool to help you focus and zero-in on what and where energy needs attention in your home.
Pay attention to the undesirable patterns that tend to repeat in your life. Is it possible that the energy of your home environment is unbalanced and actually participating in this negative repetition? If you can’t make a decision, are feeling stuck, are overwhelmed, have difficulty staying financially afloat, then it may be time to bring a little Feng Shui into your life and maybe even have a little fun doing it.
